BENEFITS OF WORKING TOGETHER VIRTUALLY

Living with the constant threat of COVID 19, including its restrictions, it is more important than ever to offer flexibility in how you as a participant can access support under the NDIS.

At Soul Support Coordination, over the last two years, virtual service delivery or Telehealth – which you may be more familiar with, has been pivotal in being able to offer that continuity of support and ongoing services.

In fact, most of the clients that I have had the pleasure of working with, still prefer to communicate this way, or indeed just by phone, as has it has kept them safe, giving them, their carers and loved one’s peace or mind, while still giving them choice and control.

What NDIS services can I access via telehealth?

Just like face-to-face appointments, Telehealth can allow you to build rapport and develop a positive relationship with your provider or clinician. As it is easier and more convenient for both parties, so if for example you live in a regional, remote, or rural community you may not have access to any NDIS service providers and so it can take away the stress of trying to get to an apt or trying to get someone to come to you.

Telehealth gives you more choice and control over how you access NDIS services in general, as most providers are happy to communicate with you this way. See below for some other types of providers:

Occupational Therapy; Medical Appointments; Psychology; Counselling; Physiotherapy; Exercise Physiology and  Speech Pathology; Employment Services (DES) and Support Coordination to name just a few.

How Do I access telehealth?

Your appointment can take place at any location, as long as you have access to the following:

    • A computer, laptop, tablet, or phone, which has a webcam and microphone, (most devices have these built into them).
    • The internet
    • Some space where you feel comfortable having a chat.

Prior to your apt, you will be emailed/ contacted with an invitation link. You may choose any app that you feel comfortable using, e.g.; Zoom, MS Teams, Skype; FaceTime or WhatsApp. You will simply need to click this link and it will take you through to a virtual room where we can chat face to face. I can help you set this up and support you through the process.

A lot of my clients prefer to simply chat on the phone, and so if you do not have access to an electronic device, Telehealth can also be conducted this way.
